Non-fault accident but no insurance- where do I stand?
My boyfriend was involved in a non-fault road collision but was not insured at the time (silly him- I know). He was driving his motorbike at the speed limit on a 50mph road when a lady in a people carrier pulled out of a junction in front of him. He suffered dislocated kneecaps and severely broken ankle, amongst other injuries. He was told by the paramedics he was lucky that he had seen the lady pull out in time and managed to swerve out of the way slightly or he would have been a fatality for sure. The police gathered supporting witness statements and the driver said she simply had not seen him. Obviously he should have had insurance and has had to pay a fine for this, but is there any way he is entitled to compensation due to it being a non-fault? He suffered considerable injuries, had to take time off work (although he cut his cast off early as he couldn’t afford to be out of work longer) and his bike was written off. Would a solicitor be able to offer advice or is there no point chasing this as he wasn’t insured? Thanks"

My husband’s car was recently damaged in a hail storm and the insurance adjuster gave us a quote based on Paintless Dent Repair if it was repaired at the collision center where it was taken for the estimate. I’ve heard that getting PDR done stretches the paint and can cause it to eventually crack down the road and damage the paint job. Is this true?
